Modern society has become addicted to fossil fuels. We use oil to run our cars, natural gas to heat our homes, and coal to generate electricity. The problem with fossil fuels is that they are a limited resource. They will eventually run out. Before that happens, however, energy prices will skyrocket, as fossil fuels become more scare and supply and demand kicks in. We are beginning to feel the effect of that scarcity right now, and have seen the impact of higher energy costs.
